But, if you're looking for a light, entertaining read dealing with interesting topics, gi Rollins' books are very entertaining fare. One criticism is that the writing can sometimes fall into large chunks of exposition rattling off what Rollins (or more likely his research assistants) were able to dredge up on the subject, ala Dan Brown. Each book tackles some area of (pseudo?) scientific, metaphysical and/or historical interest, and mixes it with a James-Bond-meets-Indiana-Jones adventure setup.

Rollins' books are very entertaining fare. Please excuse my typos im on my kindle lol. since his characterization and writing in every other aspect is pretty good by my standards he has to be doing it purposely for sales or he doesnt feel women he doesnt find attractive have much worth and that subconsciously shows in his writing. The women are always Hollywood beautiful while the men protagonists have more diversity in their looks but are being portrayed as desirable regardless. Its boring and unrealistic and annoying when he puts so much effort into making the men look more diverse than sculpted jaws and sexy abs. Several leading men are described as ugly and dull looking or heavy or something other than hot but the women are all the same kind of thin, all long limbed with faces and bodies that have no deformities, no scars, no nothing interesting or outside of the norm besides race. Their personalities are fully formed but their physical descriptions are all very similar.

The only issue i have and that i cant get over is the women. The stories are creative, the facts well researched, and even tho the premise is essentially the same for every single book I still find enough new scenarios and character growth to pick up the next one.
